It was a beautiful drive through Loomis Park after the heavy snow. It is so relaxing to find beauty in the fresh snow as it weighs down the branches of the trees and bushes. Walking paths and driving paths through the snow made it possible to capture the beauty in the park. As the sun was setting, the backlight on the trees and branches was gorgeous! I looked down in the snow and noticed some curvy mounds of snow. The sunlight caressed the beauty and brought out the detail in the snow curves. I was raised on a farm in Iowa and even though I live in town now, I'm still drawn to the open spaces in the country. Usually to relax and rejuvenate I will turn on the first gravel road I see when I drive out of town. Of course that changes all the time. I blow with the wind and if there isn't a wind I go where and when I feel the urge to turn. I do stop for barns, horses, old farm machinery or old trucks and cars. I really enjoy chasing the light of sunrise or sunset! I just started birding in the last couple years and enjoy that as well.
