These little animals are so much fun to watch and are very curious. They enjoy being in open forests with little vegetation under the trees. They have two types of shelters, tree dens and leaf nests. They may have a leaf nest and a tree den. Tree dens are preferred by fox squirrels during the winter months and when they are raising their young.
