Driving around Storm Lake, I slowed down to see if there was any birds close to the side of the road. There were several, so I turned around and parked the car off the road in a parking area. I was excited to see that there was one of three herons that did not fly away. There were also some pelicans and wood ducks swimming in Little Storm Lake. Thank you for visiting my Gallery! I love capturing special moments with my camera and sharing them with people. I was raised on a farm in Iowa and even though I live in town now, I'm still drawn to the open spaces in the country. Usually to relax and rejuvenate I will turn on the first gravel road I see when I drive out of town. Of course that changes all the time. I blow with the wind and if there isn't a wind I go where and when I feel the urge to turn. I do stop for barns, horses, old farm machinery or old trucks and cars. I really enjoy chasing the light of sunrise or sunset! I just started birding in the last couple years and enjoy that as well.
