When you visit Independence, Iowa, make sure you don't miss the Illinois Central Railroad Depot Museum. It's pretty amazing! There is a 1926 90-ton steam engine on site, as well as a 1978 32-ton caboose. The museum site also includes the station and baggage room. The museum and visitor center are open mid-May through mid-October on Tuesdays through Sundays and on holidays. The Fine Art America watermark will not appear on your purchase. Great RxR depot museum. Nice modern green lined metal roof, caps old original bricks , unique architectural features as brick cut outs, scroll work, quarried stone base, and old fashioned vertical green trimmed windows and doors, makes a great composition Kathy.
