Description
The most dangerous eight seconds in sports is bull riding! The bull rider must stay on the bull for at least eight seconds and not touch their free hand to the bull or to themselves. If they can last eight seconds, they move on in the competition. When a bull rider is thrown off the bull in less than eight seconds, they are “Bucked Off” and no points are awarded. The bull rider needs to have flexibility, coordination, courage, and high spirit to compete, not to mention confidence! Chaps may look decorative and flashy, but they are a part of the rider’s armor and provide protection for the rider’s thighs and leg parts against the bull’s horns and hooves. The cowboy boots are specially designed for bull riding. They have a special spur ridge on the heal which helps the spurs stay in the place.
Red Rock #007, from 1-1-1976, to 6-8-1994, was an American bucking bull. He competed in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). Bull riders attempted to ride Red Rock, 309 times and not one, rider was able to ride him, until the eight-second whistle in his professional career, owners brought Red Rock out of retirement in 1988 for a match against Lane Frost. He was also chosen as the PRCA 1987 Bucking Bull of the Year. However, Red Rock is most famous for his association with 1987 PRCA World Champion bull rider Lane Frost and their famous matchup called the Challenge of the Champions. In 1990, both Frost and Red Rock were inducted into the Pro Rodeo. In 1994, Hollywood released 8 Seconds, a biopic based on Lane Frost's life, which includes his duel with Red Rock. He was the first livestock inducted into the St. Paul Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2017. The Fine Art America watermark will not appear on your purchase. Ideal for your office or home. You can choose from a fine art canvas print, pillow, greeting cards, puzzles, and many other home decor products are available.

What a shot! Oh my, I hope wasn't too hurt! l/f
Kathy M Krause replied:
Thank you, Linda, for your view wonderful comments and l/f! I appreciate you! Rodeo clowns play a very important role in the arena! They need to be very courageous, have agility, fast moving and fast decision making as well as communication! In the photo the rodeo clown is trying to get the attention of the bull to entice it away from the cowboy. I would not want to do that job.
