Original photography and digital artwork by Kathy Krause. While I was driving through town with a friend, I spotted four groundhogs out running in an open section of ground. She pulled over in an empty lot while I got my camera ready and headed out while gently shutting the door. I was really excited to see a family of them gazing and walking around but on alter there was a human in the area. When I got too close the two young ones dove down two separate holes while the dad stood over the mother as she peeked out her hole. I love nature! They are so fun to watch and capture for memories! Hi Robert. Thank you so much for your comments Robert! I wasn't expecting that side adventure but I'll go for it when it comes to nature, if at all possible! They could see me coming a block away. I had on a bright colored blouse and I walk with a cane. Well, I guess you could say I kind'a limp along! Lol. Anyway, as I was sneaking up to them I let go of my cane to adjust my camera and the cane dropped but I kept on walking at a slower pace. Each time I stopped I would snap some photos thinking they wouldn't let me much closer, but I was really surprised and excited to get this shot! After thid shot they both went down the tunnel. I walked back and found my cane and then went back to the car where my friend was laughing and patiently waiting for me. Bless you Robert! :-)
