Driving around on the backroads near Dayton, Iowa, we came across a beautiful herd of horses. When I stopped the car on the side of the road, the horses were all curious and turned to look through the tall grass at what was going on. Gorgeous herd of equines! Thank you for visiting my Gallery! I love capturing special moments with my camera and sharing them with people. I was raised on a farm in Iowa and even though I live in town now, I'm still drawn to the open spaces in the country. Usually to relax and rejuvenate I will turn on the first gravel road I see when I drive out of town. Of course that changes all the time. I blow with the wind and if there isn't a wind I go where and when I feel the urge to turn. I do stop for barns, horses, old farm machinery or old trucks and cars. I really enjoy chasing the light of sunrise or sunset! I just started birding in the last couple years and enjoy that as well. Fantastic shot! This reminds me of a group of cows that gathered shoulder to shoulder by the cemetery during my aunt's funeral service years ago. As we turned to leave, so did they. Always thought that was intriguing.
