Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").
Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

At first, I did not see this American Bittern as I was driving very slowly on a narrow road through the marsh area of Lizard Lake, until it made a slight move. Wow! There it was almost totally camouflaged in the reeds and grass. It was crouched low to the water when I first spotted it and was headed for more cover. I continued to keep it in focus as it slowly moved through the reeds and underbrush. I lost track of it for a short time because the reeds and grass were so thick. Then the bittern and I both heard the frog jump in the water. The bittern was on the move again with a more intense and concentrated look on the frog. It was a very exciting experience to see my first bittern in the wild!!! The American Bittern is a medium sized heron with a more compact body and shorter legs. I was raised on a farm in Iowa and even though I live in town now, I'm still drawn to the open spaces in the country. Usually to relax and rejuvenate I will turn on the first gravel road I see when I drive out of town. Of course that changes all the time. I blow with the wind and if there isn't a wind I go where and when I feel the urge to turn. I do stop for barns, horses, old farm machinery or old trucks and cars. I really enjoy chasing the light of sunrise or sunset! I just started birding in the last couple years and enjoy that as well.
