It was a magical time and a lot of fun the day I took this photo! I was visiting a friend, and we went out to sit on the patio chairs and watch all the butterflies that were attracted to her asters. There were hundreds of them and so many different types. The painted lady was the most common butterfly sipping nectar from the asters that day. Thank you for visiting my Gallery! I love capturing special moments with my camera and sharing them with people. I was raised on a farm in Iowa and even though I live in town now, I'm still drawn to the open spaces in the country. Usually to relax and rejuvenate I will turn on the first gravel road I see when I drive out of town. Of course that changes all the time. I blow with the wind and if there isn't a wind I go where and when I feel the urge to turn. I do stop for barns, horses, old farm machinery or old trucks and cars. I really enjoy chasing the light of sunrise or sunset! I just started birding in the last couple years and enjoy that as well.
